“ Villa Katarina is a real gem, our family of two adults and two children spent a lovely week there in August 22 and enjoyed Mali Ston and Ston area very much. It is a great place to unwind and much more easy going than Dubrovnik which is easy to visit. There are several small beaches, three restaurants and two cafes in the village, extremely good. Also in Ston many more restaurants and supermarkets, bakery, butchers, chemist, bank and a fresh market, a lovely little museum and a children's playground. The villa is an exquisite example of an old stone cottage all modernised inside and with unforgettable sea views. The kitchen is amazing and there is aircon in all rooms, and two beautiful bathrooms! We felt pampered. You can park 80 meters from the villa.

“ The location is excellent with beautiful views over the bay, and only a couple of minutes walk to the restaurants. It has air conditioning in every room which made it very comfortable when it got hot. Good internet connection as well. The host was easy to contact and gave helpful friendly advice.
The Villa was ideal for us, but do need to be reasonably mobile as Villa is on three floors and although just a couple of minutes from the parking area the paths are a climb and a bit rough for the wheels of suitcases. But all well worth the effort.

The most wonderful holiday in the most perfect place
“ Mali Ston is the most enchanting, ancient, village with a castle and a fortified wall running across the hill to Ston. Villa Katarina is a beautiful old house in the village - just below the castle and at the start of the fortified wall which runs across the hill to Ston. It has been superbly renovated, retaining its character but with all the modern comforts. We had arrived in the dark and opening the shutters in the morning to an amazing view of the sea (even better than in the photograph) is something we'll never forget. We were there with our two adult daughters (who were very comfortable on beds in the sitting room) but it would also be perfect for a romantic getaway. It's a few steps down to the sea for swimming and there are several excellent restaurants in the village. And there's so much to see and do nearby - for all ages. There are sandy beaches, and rocky outcrops for more adventurous swimming, vineyards, wonderful scenery, very pretty villages - and, of course, Dubrovnik. If you go there, be sure to go up in the funicular. We had lunch in the excellent restaurant at the top, gazing down on the historic city. We can't wait to go back to Villa Katarina! We were also lucky enough to visit Villa Mimosa, where our son and his family were staying. That too is beautiful. ”

“ Lovely villa for 2 in a refurbished medieval tower in a really peaceful part of the village of Mali Ston. As it is a short walk from any
roads it is very quiet. The villa is comfortable but plain and has everything you need for a short break. It was very clean with plenty
of hot water and the Wi-Fi connection was quick. The only downside was the disappointing outside area but we still loved the villa
and would recommend it. ”

“ Villa Katarina is an old tower in Mali Ston, sympathetically renovated using local stone and timber to very high standards. The kitchen is well equipped with John Lewis pans and crockery and cutlery with familiar UK white goods. The lounge is comfortable with a TV and WiFi and above it the bedroom and en-suite are light and airy with views over the Ston Canal. The villa offers a superb base from which to explore the hidden gems on the Pelješac peninsula with its many excellent vineyards and secluded beaches. Dubrovnik is close enough for an absorbing day out, but choose a cool day! Eating out is cheap and the quality of the local seafood is superb. The Kapetanova Kuce is a stroll from the villa and has a great atmosphere with food to match. This year we discovered a new restaurant in nearby Broce. There's only one, so go find it for yourself and meet the fisherman who opened and runs it. Try the lobster which he keeps in a cage in the sea right next to where you eat! There are several islands to visit by ferry Mljet being closest. Korcula is further away but rewards the effort with a great drive to catch the ferry at Orebic. We have returned to Katarina for the last 7 years and each time we find things that we didn't see before. We always seem to be drawn to return. ”

“ There is so much to see and discover in the area around Ston and Mali Ston. It has taken us repeated visits to even start to do it justice. There are islands to see, eating places to try and gorgeous deserted beaches to track down. Villa Katarina is a gem, set above the small fishing village of Mali Ston. The facilities are superb and the views compliment them. Down at the water's edge are two excellent restaurants. I recommend the Kapetanova Kuca. Will we be going back? Oh yes! ”

“ What a lovely place to stay - we would highly recommend Villa Katarina. This villa was decorated so beautifully, it was a pleasure to stay in. It is detached and self contained on 3 floors, so was really nice and quiet and private. The bedroom especially was lovely, really spacious and comfortable with a very large bathroom attached. The living room was also bright and airy and comfortable. The outlook from the rooms were just lovely. The lady who looks after the villa very thoughtfully came and opened the shutters and windows ahead of our arrival to get the house aired, which was a nice touch and appreciated. The owner had also left a very helpful guide giving some good advice about where to visit. The only thing missing would be a garden or roof top terrace, but outdoor space wasn't greatly missed as the weather wasn't great during our stay, as we had quite a lot of rain. My partner also greatly appreciated the Wi-Fi and we both liked the fact that some TV channels were English for a relaxing hour after sightseeing and before heading out for dinner..... ”
