OVERVIEW
On the southernmost tip of Istria, the village of Liznjan still retains its traditional atmosphere of an Adriatic fishing village. Fishing boats are bobbing in the rural harbour, intermingling with wind surfers and kite surfers. Small boats still leave at sunset and catch their fish in an old fashioned way. This particular patch of land has its own excellent micro-climate, and the sun is almost always shining. The village has several grocery shops, a wonderful bakery and a butcher, three restaurants and a few cafes and beach bars. The sea is clean and wonderful to swim in. Not much further away, there is a very lively village of Medulin, with many restaurants, cafes, ice cream parlours, water sports and a sandy beach equipped with beach bars and sunbeds.
Right at the edge of this village the Villa Zahara nestles among several sister villas in a walled and gated estate. It is a beautifully built villa with traditional features of stone walls, tiled floors and natural wood beams. The villa is all modern and full of light inside, every room air conditioned, and has a WiFi. High quality lighting, furniture, bed linen, cooking utensils and tableware are provided. The bedrooms have their own satellite TV each. Villa Zahara has its private garden, pool and parking for two cars.
Within ten minutes you will reach the grocery shop, a butcher, a cafe, a restaurants, bakery, bank, doctor and chemist. We think that a car is not needed, but we recommend it. A riding school, the sandy beach, biking trails and adrenaline park are in the vicinity. Visit the amazing towns of Pula, Rovinj, Porec and Motovun, the local wineries and some of the best restaurants in Croatia. This is also a paradise for water sports, wild swimming, biking and foodies. If you are flying, the local airport Pula is about 30 minutes' drive away, and Trieste airport one hour drive.
Accommodation
Ground floor
The ground floor is open plan, a sitting room opening out onto the garden and pool, and two steps up from the sitting room there is a kitchen and dining area. A very attractive feature is the fireplace, then two stylish sofas, a coffee table and an eat -in kitchen two steps above the sitting room. The well equipped kitchen is supplied with a fridge/freezer, gas cooker, dishwasher, kettle, coffee machine, toaster, cooking utensils and attractive cookware and tableware. The dining table is for up to eight people. In the sitting room there is satellite TV/DVD and the a WiFi connection and good works of art. Also on the ground floor is one double bedroom with a double bed, wardrobe, TV and wood flooring and a family shower room and a laundry.
First floor
A wooden staircase takes you to the two first floor bedrooms, one with a double bed and balcony, the other with twin beds. Bed linen and towels are provided. The bedrooms share a very nicely tiled bathroom with a bath tub and a hand held shower. The bedrooms are bright, airy and very restful.
Outside
The blue shuttered villa has a 400 square metre garden which is planted with Mediterranean plants and shrubs. The pool is private and has ladder-style steps , surrounded with sun loungers and a parasol. There is also a private, secured outside parking for 2 cars. The garden has a BBQ grill and a dining area with an outdoor table for eight.
