OVERVIEW
Villa Zafferano is situated in a quiet village, near the celebrated Rovinj, the most beguiling town on the Istrian peninsula. The villa has recently been renovated and given a modern look. In the interior, sleek modern tiles, warm oak floors and wooden staircases are major features. Outside an attractive swimming pool provides a focus for the garden. The main entrance is from the side of the house, and leads you to a very spacious hall, with a winding staircase constructed from solid oak and wrought iron. From the hall you enter the living area which takes over the whole ground floor. A downstairs WC is reached from the hallway.
The ground floor and the master bedroom on the first floor are air-conditioned and on the second floor there is a single air conditioning unit on the landing and fans are also provided.
Accommodation
Ground floor
On the ground floor there is an open-plan sitting, dining and kitchen area plus there is a separate second sitting room. In the open-plan area, the sitting room is slightly elevated by a few steps and has a comfortable L-shaped sofa, TV and a writing desk. The dining area has a large hand-made oak dining table and chairs and the spacious modern kitchen is equipped with a cooker and oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, electric kettle, toaster, plenty of cooking utensils, plates, cutlery and glassware. Large picture windows open up onto an outdoor covered terrace. The second sitting area has two comfortable sofas, a fireplace and a TV/DVD player.
First floor
On this floor there is a large master bedroom with a king-size double bed, en-suite bathroom and a dressing room and a second double bedroom with adjoining (but not ensuite) bathroom. There are built-in mosquito meshes in the windows, so that the guests can have the windows open if they wish. Also on the first floor is a professional gym containing a multi-gym, exercise bike, treadmill, elliptical machine and other fitness apparatus. This overlooks the garden and swimming pool.
Second floor
There are two double and two twin bedrooms on the second floor. One double room is en-suite, with very tasteful sanitaryware and Italian tiles. The other double shares a family bathroom. The two twin bedrooms are furnished simply and tastefully, and also share the large family bathroom. There is a lot of storage space and all the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. All bed linen and bathroom towels are provided.
Outside
The villa is surrounded by a secured lawn garden, mainly at the back of the villa. A lovely pool of 48 square metres (roughly 9m x 5m) has a large decked area for sunbathing, where sun loungers are provided. There is also a large covered terrace with an outdoor dining table and chairs, ceiling fans and lighting and a table tennis table. In addition, a separate summer kitchen and dining area with barbecue oven is located at the side of the house.
A minutes stroll away is a public children's play area, with a slide and see-saw, and a public tennis court / half-court basketball / 5-a-side football pitch.
